According to Facebook, the "New Pages Experience" is a way for you to manage your professional presence on Facebook. Unfortunately, along with the advantages, the new feature brought some problems. Many of our customers reported that after switching to the "New Pages Experience," the page disappeared from the list of targets in the Facebook Event Publisher.
What is the problem?
The problem is caused by the poor logical connection between two independent sets of permissions used by "New Pages Experience" and "Meta Business Suite".
To obtain permission to publish live events on your page, your profile should be added to the new list of accounts with the "Manage and view access" privileges in the "New Pages Experience" settings.
However, suppose you have already been granted access to the "Meta Business Suite" page. In that case, you will not be able to obtain "Manage and view access" privileges because your profile will simply not appear in the list. In the resulting confusing situation, you will be able to manage the page preferences, but you won't be able to publish live content.
We are working with the Facebook development team toward a potential resolution. Meanwhile, we've discovered a workaround to help you fix the problem.
How to fix the problem?
You cannot solve the problem without help from a business administrator. Even if you are a business administrator, you need help from another administrator because the procedure involves temporarily revoking some of your permissions. If you do not have another administrator, please add one using the steps from the following article: "How to add people to Meta Business Manager".
Once you find a business administrator that can help you to resolve the issue, ask him to follow the steps below:
- Open the Meta Business Suite.
- Click "Settings" and navigate to "Business assets".
- Locate your page in the list of assets and click on it.
- On the page summary panel, click "Page access".
- Locate your profile in the list and click "Manage".
IMPORTANT: Please note that the admin should manage your profile, not his own.
- In the management panel, click "Remove access".
- Leave the "Page access" open and open a new browser tab.
- In the new browser tab, open your page "Settings".
- Navigate to the "New Page Experience > Page Access" tab, and click "Add New".
- In the following dialog, click "Next".
- In the following dialog, find your profile and click on it.
- In the following dialog, optionally allow complete control, and click "Give Access".
IMPORTANT: Facebook will send you an invitation to manage the page after this step. Please review the invitation and explicitly accept the terms and conditions.
- Go back to a browser tab in which the Business Page Access is open and click "Add People".
- In the following dialog, check your profile, assign all required permissions (the ones you've revoked above) and click "Assign".
How to make sure it works?
As a result of the procedure above, your profile will be added to both permission sets, "New Pages Experience" and "Meta Business Suite". We strongly recommend that the next time you publish a live stream from Ozolio Dashboard, you click the "Logout" button to refresh your account binding.
